SCA-401 – 8-Hour Suspended Scaffold Supervisor Refresher

The 8-Hour Suspended Scaffold Supervisor Refresher is a NYC Department of Buildings–approved refresher course designed for supervisors who have previously completed suspended scaffold supervisor training and are required to maintain or renew their SSD certification.

This refresher course focuses on the supervisory role in suspended scaffold operations, emphasizing oversight, hazard recognition, and compliance with NYC DOB safety regulations. The training reinforces the supervisor’s responsibility to ensure suspended scaffolds are used safely and in accordance with approved procedures.

During the course, participants will review key topics including:

• supervisory responsibilities for suspended scaffold operations

• identification and control of suspended scaffold hazards

• inspection and safety oversight requirements

• fall protection awareness and accident prevention

• compliance with NYC DOB suspended scaffold regulations

This course is a refresher only and does not replace initial Suspended Scaffold Supervisor training. It is intended for supervisors who already hold the required SSD certification.

Upon successful completion, students receive a certificate of completion applicable toward renewal of the Suspended Scaffold Supervisor certification (SSD), subject to NYC DOB requirements.
