SCA-202 – 8-Hour Supported Scaffold Installer and Remover Refresher

The 8-Hour Supported Scaffold Installer and Remover Refresher (Scaffold 202) is a NYC Department of Buildings–approved refresher course required for individuals who have previously completed Supported Scaffold Installer and Remover training and must maintain or renew their certification.

This refresher course reinforces critical safety knowledge related to supported scaffold work, with a focus on proper procedures, hazard recognition, and regulatory compliance. The training reviews the responsibilities of installers and removers to ensure that supported scaffolds are erected, modified, and dismantled safely in accordance with NYC DOB requirements.

During the course, participants will review key topics including:

• supported scaffold components and systems

• safe procedures for scaffold installation and removal

• load capacity awareness and structural stability

• inspection requirements and hazard identification

• fall prevention and job site safety practices

• compliance with NYC DOB supported scaffold regulations

This course is a refresher only and does not replace initial Supported Scaffold Installer and Remover training. It is intended for workers who already hold the required certification and need to keep it current.

Upon successful completion, students receive a certificate of completion applicable toward renewal of the Supported Scaffold Installer and Remover certification (Scaffold 202), subject to NYC DOB requirements.
